About the event
When most people hear the phrase 'false idol' they think of a golden calf worshipped by Moses' followers 3000 years ago, if they think of anything at all. But idolatry isn't just an ancient idea having to do with wayward desert wanderers. We are surrounded by false idols today; distracting social media, click bait news, political figures, and more. Together let's explore how to recognize and be amused with false idols, so we can open our hearts to true spiritual freedom in our UU churches.
Rev. Cindy Pincus is a UU minister, spiritual counselor, and public theologian. She focuses on the forgiveness mysteries of the early Christian traditions and the Sophia mysteries of Judaism. She lives in Denver, CO and splits her time between there and her spiritual community in Santa Fe.
